Curriculum

You will learn how to greet people, introduce themselves, talk about family, discuss dates and birthdays, and describe simple holiday activities. The course focuses on basic vocabulary, simple sentence structures, listening comprehension, and short written communication.

Unit 1: Salam (Greetings)

What you’ll achieve:
 Use greetings and basic expressions to interact socially.

You will learn how to:

  • Respond to greetings in everyday situations
  • Ask and answer questions about well-being
  • Write short greeting messages (e.g., in a text or card)
  • Recognize common greeting phrases when listening
  • Build basic vocabulary related to greetings and well-being

Unit 2: Perkenalan (Introducing Oneself)

What you’ll achieve:
 Introduce yourself and others, and provide basic personal information.

You will learn how to:

  • Introduce yourself and other people clearly
  • Ask for and give basic personal information (name, origin, age)
  • Fill in simple personal information forms
  • Recognize personal information when listening
  • Use introductory phrases and basic nouns in conversation

Unit 3: Keluargaku  (My Family)

What you’ll achieve: Talk about your family and understand family descriptions.

You will learn how to:

  • Describe family members and their relationships
  • Ask questions about someone’s family
  • Write short texts describing family members
  • Understand spoken descriptions of families
  • Use pronouns (-ku, -mu, -nya) and demonstratives (ini, itu) correctly
  • Learn vocabulary related to family members

Unit 4: Ulang Tahunku (My Birthday)

What you’ll achieve: Discuss dates, time, and birthday-related activities.

You will learn how to:

  • Ask and answer questions about dates, birthdays, and age
  • Talk about when events occur
  • Write simple sentences about birthdays
  • Understand spoken references to dates and ages
  • Use cardinal numbers, ordinal numbers, and time expressions
  • Learn vocabulary for days, months, and age-related terms

Unit 5: Liburanku (My Holiday)

What you’ll achieve: Talk about holidays and leisure activities.

You will learn how to:

  • Discuss holiday plans and activities
  • Ask and answer questions about vacations
  • Write short texts describing holiday experiences
  • Understand conversations about holiday events
  • Use questions and verbs with the ber- prefix
  • Learn vocabulary related to holidays and travel activities

What to Expect in Your Indonesian Language Sessions

  • Final Exam: At the end of the course, you will take a written and verbal exam. A score of 70% is required to progress to the next level.

Class Terms & Conditions

  • Your Learn Indonesian course fee includes one digital copy of the learning materials. If you’d prefer a hard copy, you can purchase one from our recommended supplier at an extra cost.
  • Public group classes are designed for 30 academic hours per CEFR level. If the group grows to 5-7 students, we’ll extend the program by 10 academic hours. If only two students enroll before the course starts, the group will shift to a semi-private format with 20 academic hours.
  • Want to switch to a different group or schedule? No problem! Just let us know at least 7 days before the course starts.
  • All our teachers are native speakers of the target language. If your teacher falls ill or has an emergency, we’ll arrange a substitute who’s fully briefed on your progress.
  • Once you’ve started with your group, switching to another group or schedule isn’t possible.
  • Please note that course fees are non-refundable once the group classes have begun.
  • We can record group lessons for later viewing, but only if everyone in the class agrees before the course starts.
  • At the end of every program, you’ll take a final exam (both written and verbal). To move up to the next CEFR level, you’ll need to score at least 70%.
  • After completing your final exam, you’ll receive a progress report, recommendations, and a certification for your hard work!
